Visiting Atlantic City

Atlantic City, NJ, is one of the most fun cities to visit.  While it has been referred to as a smaller, younger, less glamorous sister to Las Vegas in regard to gambling, that’s not all there is to The Shore. One of the best things about Atlantic City is the ocean and the beautiful beaches along with many family friendly attractions.

Take a walk along the boardwalk
This boardwalk was built initially in 1870 with the sole purpose of keeping sand out of the resort hotels as well as shoreline trails. The promenade stretches up to four miles and varies between carnival, pub-crawl, honky-tonk, and natural beauty. The Atlantic City boardwalk presents a fantastic and diverse array of shops and eateries that align the walkway. All guests will be fascinated by the relaxation of this venue during any season of the year.

Take a ride on the steel pier
One of the most iconic structures in Atlantic City is the 1000ft Steel Pier, which has been around since 1898. While here, do not be afraid to let your inner kid explore everything from the Grand Carousel to the slingshot, which propels visitors into the air at 100 miles an hour. It is a fun experience; whether you are an adult or have kids, you can enjoy the ride during any season of the year.

Visit some casinos
Gambling has to be among the top things to do while visiting Atlantic City all year round. This seaside city is the home to many casinos comprising everything from slots to table games, including poker, blackjack, and roulette. Most casinos provide a variety of gaming options and quality service that most travelers always enjoy.

Visit the Absecon Lighthouse
The Absecon Lighthouse is New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse. Take an amazing journey into time and above it all as you ascend the 228 steps of the Absecon Lighthouse, one of the oldest lighthouses in the country. You’ll see breathtaking views of the Atlantic City skyline and up top you’ll come face-to-face with the original first-order Fresnel Lens, first lit in 1857.The lighthouse’s recent multi-million dollar restoration also includes a stunning replica of the Lightkeeper’s dwelling, an educational museum, charming gift shop, Fresnel Lens exhibit in the original Oil House and expansive grounds. The Absecon Lighthouse is on both the New Jersey and National Registries of Historic Places.

Visit the Atlantic City Beach
The beach is extensive nature along with soft camel-hued sands. The ocean’s waves are perfect for body and boogie boarding, as well as wave jumping for the kids. Adults can choose to either walk along the flat terrain close to the water or relax in some elegant beach chairs. Visiting the beach, especially after the wedding, can be quite relaxing and fun. Make sure you have it on your to-do list during the summer and autumn.
